  • What types of stem cells do your partner hospital use?

    We use 7 types of stem cells for different conditions:

    1. Human fetal Neural Stem Cells (hNSC):
       In our clinic, hNSC is applied to treat the patients with Cerebral Palsy, Brain Injury, Stroke, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Batten Diesease, Spinal cord injury, Degenerative Diseases, and other neurological disorders.
    2. Human bone Marrow-derived mesenchymal Stem cells (hBM-MSC): Clinically, these cells have been identified to significantly improve the conditions of the patients who suffer from autoimmune diseases, nervous system diseases, coronary disease, hematologic malignancy, or graft versus host disease (GVHD).
    3. Human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSC): These cells are used clinically as an alternative treatment for hBM-MSC.  
    4. Human retinal pigment epithelial cells (hRPE):
       hRPE cell transplantation has been used to treat Parkinson’s disease. Preclinical studies suggest the safety and effectiveness of human RPE cells as a suitable cell type to serve as a potential durable source of  a levodopa producing donor for implantation into the striatum of patients.  The stereotaxic intrastriatal implantation produced a constant amelioration of patients’ Parkinsonians without using any immune suppression.
    5. Human insulin producing cells (hIPC, unipotent):
       Clinical application: Diabetes.
    6. Human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hAMSC):
       Clinical application: cosmetic treatment, and an alternative treatment for BMMSC.
